Our mission is to provide assistance for pets with mobility impairments. We are not able to assist pets in need of surgery or those that have orthopedic concerns or other diagnoses. We have streamlined a list of resources that are better suited to help you receive the help you need for your pet.
medical care
American Veterinary Care Charitable Fund – A grant for this program must be submitted by a veterinarian. The program was created as a way to give veterinarians a way to offer charitable services to clients facing financial hardships. Aid is geared toward senior citizens, disabled veterans, rescued animals and victims of domestic violence.
Banfield Charitable Trust HOPE Fund – The pet must be a patient at a Banfield Pet Hospital and funds are determined by each clinic.
Bow Wow Buddies Foundation - Provides grants for families that are unable to afford necessary veterinary care and are in need of financial assistance to keep their dog healthy and in their home.
Brown Dog Foundation - provides funding to sick pets that would likely respond to treatment, but due to an unforseen circumstance, there is not enough money immediately available to make it happen.
Dr. Steve Abrams Memorial Foundation – PetSavers, Inc. – Grants are awarded for sick and injured pets whom, otherwise would not be treated due to the finances of their owners. Their vision is to eliminate the euthanasia of pets because of economics. Applicants must meet these criteria: Have verifiable financial need, denied by CareCredit or a similar program, and have a favorable prognosis from a veterinarian.
Dylan’s Hearts – A nonprofit agency that aids families struggling financially to pay for veterinary care.
Frankie’s Friends - Providing grants to assist with the cost of life-saving or life-enhancing emergency or specialty care for pets whose families cannot afford the full cost of treatment.
Friends & Vets – This organization assists when your pet needs financial help for “extraordinary” veterinary expenses to save their life.
Gandalf Fund - This program offers financial aid for working and retired assistance dogs who have suffered an acute or prolonged illness or injury.
God’s Creatures Ministry - This organization wants people to treat all animals with kindness. It supports that mission by providing financial help to pet owners facing veterinary bills.
Harley’s Hope Foundation – A group that gives financial aid for major illnesses and emergency veterinary care.
Hope Mending Heart – A grant program started by a veterinarian to help pet parents afford surgery and post-operative care.
The Mosby Foundation - Owners can apply to have procedures and treatments covered. However, the foundation cannot help with vet bills you’ve already incurred.
Murphee and Sugar Angel Foundation - assists pet parents with subsidizing veterinary costs for critically ill or injured pets.
My Pet Child - helping pet owners with financial difficulties.
Pamela Anderson Foundation - supports organizations and individuals that stand on the front lines in the protection of human, animal, and environmental rights.
Paws 4 A Cure – A nonprofit group that aids families whose dogs and cats are in need of non-routine veterinary care.
Peanut Fund - providing financial assistance for pets with medical issues in low-income families to reduce the risk of euthanasia and homelessness.
Pet Assistance, Inc. – PAi provides emergency veterinary subsidies to pet owners in financial need. Pets must have a good prognosis.
The Pet Fund – A nonprofit group that provides assistance to pets in need of veterinary care for cancer treatment, heart disease and other non-basic or emergency care.
RedRover Relief – This nonprofit organization offers grant money so pet caregivers can afford urgent and emergency veterinary treatment for their pets.
Shakespeare Animal Fund – An agency that helps pets and their people in need.
Tipper & Squirt Care for Cushings Fund - Financial assistance for families struggling to pay medical care costs associated with Cushing’s disease.
Violet’s Friends – This grant program from Oscar Newman LLC gives aid for urgent and critical veterinary care. Grants assist with surgery, therapy and mobility problems. The group is part of Pets With Disabilities, a nonprofit organization that rescues and rehomes disabled dogs.
Wag! Community Pet Surgery Donation Program – This is a new twist for financial aid. It is a crowdfunding community that raises money for pet owners with unforeseen and costly pet surgery bills. These are emergency grants. Applicants must have their own GoFundMe, PlumFund or PetChance account.

Dog & Cat Cancer Fund - The group helps with the treatment of dogs and cats with cancer.
Joshua Louis Animal Cancer Foundation - When pet owners are unable to cover treatment themselves, the foundation can help with financial support.
Land of Pure Gold - grants for active working dogs facing cancer diagnosis.
Live Like Roo Foundation - A nonprofit group that provides support and financial assistance to families whose pet faces a cancer diagnosis.
Magic Bullet Fund – The group provides assistance for dogs fighting cancer.
Perseus Foundation - Support for pets diagnosed with cancer.
Pet Fund – A nonprofit group that provides assistance to pets in need of veterinary care for cancer treatment, heart disease and other non-basic or emergency care.
Riedel & Cody Fund - For pets suffering with cancer.
Diabetes
Diabetic Cats in Need - This organization offers financial aid for insulin, helps find new homes for unwanted cats with diabetes, and starts local rescue programs to help diabetic cats get adopted.

The Big Hearts Fund – Financial aid for dogs and cats with heart disease.
domestic violence survivors’ pet support
Red Rover - Helps animals in crisis and protects and strengthens the bond between people and animals through emergency sheltering, disaster relief services, financial assistance, and education.
The Safe Haven Network - provides a dedicated service focused on the link between domestic violence and animal abuse to the Chicagoland area. Through partnerships with local shelters, they find temporary “safe havens” where domestic violence victims can board their pets while they complete a stay in a shelter.
Safe Place For Pets - On-site and off-site housing for people and pets who need a safe escape from domestic violence.
Sheltering Animals and Families Together - listing of pet-friendly domestic violence shelters nationwide.
Evanston YWCA - offers a full range of support services to those in the Chicagoland and NW Indiana community who have experienced or are living with abuse.
